Training

After growing up in a ranching family, Russell decided to become a trainer after marrying Tanna and hanging around with Greg Ward. Russell started out cowboying and riding a few outside colts for friends and family. The training business has evolved into a full time career.

Russell’s list of accomplishments include: 2008 Worlds Greatest Horseman, 2008 NRCHA Bridle Spectacular Champion, 2008 Magnificent 7 Reserve Champion, 2007 SBF Finalist, 2007 Magnificent 7 Reserve Champion, 3rd Worlds Richest Stock Horse Competition, 2004 Worlds Greatest Horseman Reserve Champion, 2003 Open Finalist at the Reno World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity, 2003 Worlds Greatest Horseman 3rd place, 2003 Magnificent 7 Champion, 2004 Magnificent 7 Reserve Champion, Limited Open Champion at the Fresno Snaffle Bit Futurity 2002, a Reserve Champion Ltd Open at the World Championship Snaffle Bit Futurity 2002, as well as being a finalist at other NRCHA major events.
